growers and breeders exhibiting their products
may participate in this contest. National and
international judges and experts in cut flowers
will be the members of the jury. It will be presided
by Mr. Gerard de Wagt, the coordinator of the
judge commission of the contests held in Hortifair,
Holland. The contest is divided into two categories:
Flower quality technical
contest for growers
This category is for participating flower growers.
Varieties are judged and ranked, and there is
one winner for each variety and a Great
Champion.
 Flower quality technical
contest for breeders
This category is only for participating companies.
The difference with the above category is that
exhibitors may only participate with new varieties
that have not been commercialized in the international
markets yet. A first, second, and third winner
and a Great Champion are selected.
The Overall Champion of the exhibition is selected
from the participants of both categories.
In PROFLORA 2005, 540 varieties participated in the Technical Contest. The winners were:
