Proflora® is the only cut flower show offering one to one business meetings, Proflora® 2011 provides networking between exhibiting flower growers and international buyers to facilitate productive transactions. This innovation will benefit both exhibitors and buyers and will enhance your Proflora® experience.

Highlights:

1. Registration for Matchmaking business meetings is cost-free for exhibitors and buyers
2. The description of participating companies will allow exhibitors and buyers to learn in advance the potential for business of both parties, and set a business meeting that will be held during Proflora 2011.
3. Registered participants will have the opportunity to make a wide range of contacts and network with importers, wholesalers, representatives of trading companies, supermarkets, national and international distributors. Appointments will be arranged in advance and will last between 20-30 minutes. Corferias and Asocolflores will offer permanent support to participants.
4. For business appointments, participants will have access to VIP rooms which have coffee facilities and permanent access to internet, among other advantages.

Final results of 2009 matchmaking business meetings were:

• 41 international buyers participated in the 2009 matchmaking business meetings
• The total of appointments were 464 and each buyer attended an average of 20 citations
• The satisfaction of completed achievements reached 91%
• The total number of benefited exhibitors was 81
• The total of business expectation in dollars were USD $5.600.053

Only growers and breeders exhibiting their products may participate in this contest. National and international cut flowers experts will be the members of the jury.

The competition will be divided into two categories:
Flower quality  competition for growers:
This category is for exhibiting flower growers. Varieties are judged and ranked. There is one winner for each variety and a Grand Champion.

Flower quality competition for breeders:
This category is only for exhibiting companies. Contest entrants are limited to new varieties that are not  in the international markets yet. First, second, and third places are awarded and a Grand Champion is selected. The Overall Champion of the exhibition is selected from participants in both categories.

In PROFLORA® 2009, 410 varieties participated in the Competition. The winners were:

• Great Championship: Royal Van Zanten, with Alstroemeria “Nadya”.
• Breeder Championship: Royal Van Zanten, with Alstroemeria “Nadya”.
• Grower Championship: Florandina, with Hydrangea “Green Antique”.
• Honorable Mention: Alexandra Farms, with Garden Roses “Piano”.
